After reading a particularly potent response to Jim Goad’s ‘Electing Not to Vote’, I wonder if the democratard dictum, “If you don’t vote, you’ve no right to complain” betrays a certain unwitting assumption: namely that one’s freedom of speech is predicated on one’s participation in the wretched ballot burlesque?
To me, it sounds like a passive-aggressive way of saying: “Partake in our religious ritual, or we’ll lop your tongue off, blasphemer!”
I can just imagine such democratheists paraphrasing, or rather perverting, Proudhon: “Liberty is the daughter of Democracy.”
If such sincerely describes their sentiment, what stops lil’ Liberty from going the way of Baby P?
